I Finally Found It
During my high school years I began to search for the meaning of my existence. I had been running with a wild crowd for some time and all of my experiences brought me to the conclusion that life was vain and that I was empty. The void in the depths of my being cried out for meaning, for reality.
I finally came to the conclusion a year later that what I was looking for must have something to do with God. I had been to a couple of different denominations. Eventually I met a family that met with the local churches. They had just recently moved from Amarillo, Texas to the Pullman, Washington area. I met with them and time after time we talked about the Bible and Jesus Christ. What surprised me was the particular attention they paid to my relationship with the Lord. They were not concerned with my outward appearance but rather time and time again they brought me to the Lord Himself and His word.
I have been meeting with the local churches for about six years, since my freshman year in college, and my experience with this family and the brothers and sisters in the local churches world-wide has been the same. We love the Lord Jesus simply and supremely. This Person is the One I was looking for and I finally found Him!! He has given meaning to my life by filling up my deepest part with Himself. My life has changed from a downward spiral to a life where daily I walk with the Lord. He is the only One that satisfies. This, being my genuine, personal experience, makes me want to tell all of my fellow men about this wonderful One, Jesus Christ!!
The Truth Set Me Free
I came into contact with writings of Witness Lee in the Fall of 1992. I was a new believer and so I didn’t know much about the Lord or His Word. The more I read the Word and different writings by Witness Lee alongside, the more I seemed to understand the Bible. Also, my experiences of the Lord became richer and fuller.
I have read several books by Witness Lee and can testify that they are quite illuminating. His writings are always strongly rooted in the Word of God and are focused on Christ. Reading his writings has caused me to love the Lord and His Word more. The truths in the Bible are made so clear and the Christ revealed in it becomes experiential. Now I realize it’s possible to know the truth and be set free by it.
